Forest Schools -

Last half term, Year 5's made large nets from string to decorate the Forest School area. The  made clay pots and decorated them with natural resources.

We also talked about trees and the Centenary of the Forestry Commission, counted tree rings and identified  trees in the school garden.

The children chose to clear an area of brambles to make a quiet bird watching area.  They learnt how to use 2 secateurs and loppers safely.  The also chose to work together as a team to build one big den where they can make mud pies!

We also used pen knives and learnt how fires work  and how to make their own fire - safely.

We are very proud of Miss Leggott, our Class 2 Teacher as she attempts to run six marathons around the world.   Please click here to see the full interview with the North Devon Gazette.
